In July 2023, Leading Asia’s Private Infrastructure Fund (LEAP) reached the end of its investment period. A successor fund, LEAP2, was established in December 2023 to be funded anew by the Japan International Cooperation Agency. LEAP 2 will operate within a similar mandate and governance as its predecessor and aims to reduce carbon emissions; improve energy efficiency; and offer accessible and affordable health care, education, and communication services.

JICA to Provide up to $1.5 Billion for ADB-Managed LEAP 2 Fund to Support Infrastructure in Asia and the Pacific

ADB and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed an agreement to establish LEAP 2 with a JICA-provided capital of up to $1.5 billion. The fund aims to cofinance high-quality, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure projects in Asia and the Pacific.
