The ADB–Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) encourages and strengthens human resource development. It aims to give qualified citizens of ADB’s developing member countries opportunities to pursue graduate studies in economics, business and management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at selected educational institutions in the Asia and Pacific region. The program is open to nationals of an ADB borrowing member country who have gained admission to an approved master’s program at a designated institution.
In 2023, the ADB–JSP celebrated its 35th anniversary through a 2-day hybrid conference. This event included the ADB–JSP Symposium: Knowledge for Development, the Thesis of the Year Award Workshop, and the Graduating Scholars Plenary, aimed at inspiring our ADB–JSP scholars and alumni to contribute to their home country’s development. The conference helped strengthen the alumni and scholars’ network and created greater program visibility.
